The Ancient Fair of the Biso is the festival that celebrates the symbol product of Pianiga, a municipality in the Riviera del Brenta in the province of Venice: the biso, the typical local pea. The event, which in recent editions has approached thirty years of history, enlivens the town's Piazza Mercato every June, which has become the heart of a festival that combines gastronomy, music, and tradition.
Risi e bisi and the food stands
The star of the table is the biso, featured in traditional Venetian dishes — starting with the famous risi e bisi, a staple of lagoon cuisine. The food stand opens every evening from 7:00 PM, while on Sundays a convivial lunch is also available by reservation. The evenings are marked by aperitifs with DJ sets and live concerts starting at 9:30 PM.
Music, engines, and shows
In addition to gastronomy, the fair offers a rich calendar of events: musical performances, tribute band concerts, a beauty contest, gatherings of sports cars and tractors, and activities for families. Pianiga and the Riviera del Brenta
Located between Mirano and Dolo, along the ancient road to Venice, Pianiga is part of the Riviera del Brenta, famous for the Venetian villas lining the Naviglio canal. The Fiera del Biso is an opportunity to discover this territory by combining traditional cuisine with the discovery of the Venetian mainland heritage.
Fair of the Biso — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Ancient Fair of the Biso was held over two weekends, from June 5th to 14th, in Piazza Mercato in Pianiga. The food stand, open every evening from 7:00 PM, offered dishes based on bisi, the local typical pea, with a convivial Sunday lunch available by reservation. Between aperitifs with DJ sets, live concerts, theatrical performances, the Corsa del Biso, the Miss Città Murata beauty contest, and rallies of sports cars and tractors, the festival animated the Riviera del Brenta for two weekends.

The fair was held over two weekends in June with a food stand every evening from 7:00 PM:
First weekend — June 5, 6, 7
- Friday 5: opening of the fair, food stand
- Saturday 6, 9:00 PM: musical show "80 Che Spettacolo"
- Sunday 7, 12:00 PM: convivial lunch by reservation; 4:00 PM theatrical performance "Il Magiko Regno dei Bisi" at Villa Querini; 6:00 PM aperitif; 7:00 PM food stand; 9:00 PM musical show
Second weekend — June 12, 13, 14
- Friday 12, 6:30 PM: Corsa del Biso; 7:00 PM food stand; 9:00 PM Miss Città Murata contest
- Saturday 13, 6:00 PM aperitif; 7:00 PM food stand; 9:00 PM concert by Übermensch (Rammstein tribute)
- Sunday 14, 6:00 PM aperitif; 7:00 PM food stand; 9:00 PM live performance by Skin and Bones (Foo Fighters tribute)
Throughout the event: menu based on bisi and risi e bisi, rallies of sports cars and tractors.

How to get there
Pianiga can be reached by car from the A4 Venice-Padua motorway (Dolo-Mirano exit) or along the SR11. The nearest train station is Mira-Mirano on the Venice-Padua line. The festival area is in Piazza Mercato.
