The great hill farming fair in the center of Valdobbiadene
The Ancient Fair of Saint Gregory is one of the most important events in the calendar of Valdobbiadene, in the province of Treviso. Dedicated to hill farming and the promotion of the territory, it brings together hundreds of exhibitors from all over Italy and unfolds along the streets of the historic center and the town's squares, in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Prosecco hills.
The fair occupies the entire town with thematic distribution: agricultural machinery and sector suppliers in the central streets; small local productions and Italian products in Piazza Marconi; the wine bar with tastings in the municipal loggia; the knife exhibition at Palazzo Celestino Piva; the engine and hobby exhibition at Villa dei Cedri. Concerts are held in the church of Sant'Egidio.
The fair is linked to the figure of Saint Gregory the Great, patron saint of Valdobbiadene, and is organized by the Consorzio Pro Loco Quartier del Piave. With over a hundred thousand visitors expected and hundreds of exhibitors, the Ancient Fair of Saint Gregory is a showcase of the economy, tradition, and community of Valdobbiadene, featuring shows for children, an educational farm, the town band, and a final fireworks display.
The 2026 edition of the Ancient Fair of Saint Gregory enlivens Valdobbiadene from Friday, March 6 (prologue) to Monday, March 9, 2026, with the highlight on the weekend.
Hundreds of exhibitors are spread throughout the town's streets, Piazza Marconi, the municipal loggia (FISAR wine bar with tastings), Palazzo Celestino Piva (knife exhibition), and Villa dei Cedri (engine and hobby exhibition). The program includes an educational farm for children, a parade of the town band, street artists, concerts in the church of Sant'Egidio, and a concluding fireworks display.
