Cross Festival 2025 in Carife

The 2025 edition was held on Saturday, May 3, on the historic date of the Holy Cross commemoration, which for generations has marked the calendar of Carife, in the province of Avellino. It is the day when the people of Carife climb towards the monumental cross placed at an altitude of 870 meters on the mountain that dominates the town, a tradition documented since the early decades of the 20th century and taken up with vigor by the younger generations.

The fair has always revolved around the devotional dimension, with market stalls, local produce, and the gathering of the Baronia communities in the town's historic center. In 2025, the event once again confirmed its role as an identity-defining festival, blending religious memory, local cuisine, and conviviality, setting the stage for the 2026 edition, which was expanded and moved to Saturday, May 2.
