The Carnival of the Ambrosian Rite
The Ambrosian Carnival of Bollate is the big Carnival celebration of Bollate, a city in the Metropolitan City of Milan. Like the entire Milanese area, Bollate follows the Ambrosian rite, which shifts Carnival a few days later compared to Rome: this is why the parades are held when, in the rest of Italy, the celebration is already over.
A Double Parade
Bollate's unique feature is the double parade that takes place simultaneously: one in the city center, with floats, masked groups, associations, and costumed children, and the other in the hamlets of Cascina del Sole and Cassina Nuova. The procession in the center starts from Piazza del Mercato and runs along Via Verdi, Via Vittorio Veneto, Via Cavour, and Via 4 Novembre, completing the traditional route through the city streets.
The 2026 Theme
The theme indicated by the federation of Milanese oratories for 2026 is "No frost", with inevitable references to the ongoing Winter Olympics. Organized by the parishes and oratories, the celebration is a collective moment that involves the entire community of Bollate and its hamlets in an afternoon of confetti, music, and joy.

The Ambrosian Carnival of Bollate 2026 takes place on Saturday, February 21, with the characteristic double simultaneous parade, involving the city center and the hamlets of Cascina del Sole and Cassina Nuova.
