Amarone Opera Prima

The 21st edition of Amarone Opera Prima was held from January 31st to February 2nd, 2025, at the Palazzo della Gran Guardia in Verona, kicking off the celebrations for the centenary of the Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella. The event previewed the 2020 vintage of Amarone, marked by a mild and dry climate with continuous atmospheric fluctuations, which yielded diverse and particularly interesting labels.

The edition was attended by 78 wineries and 106 journalists from around the world, from Argentina to the United Arab Emirates, from Japan to the United States. On January 31st, a day reserved for the press, two masterclasses were held: "Amarone: an icon of fine dining in the world's top 50" with expert JC Viens and "The memory of time, a journey through historical Amarone vintages" with Master of Wine Andrea Lonardi. From 12:30 PM, producers were available for tastings, which continued on February 2nd with the session reserved for Amarone lovers and trade professionals.

2025 Program

• Friday, January 31st — Press day with two masterclasses: "Amarone: an icon of fine dining" (JC Viens) and "The memory of time, a journey through historical vintages" (MW Andrea Lonardi); from 12:30 PM, tasting with the 78 wineries.
• Sunday, February 2nd — Session open to Amarone lovers and trade professionals.
