Edition 2025 — Altofonte Carnival

The 2025 edition of the Altofonte Carnival marked the return of the event after a five-year absence, with great participation from schools, associations, and families. From February 28 to March 4, the town center was filled with masks, floats, and dancing, featuring the main parade on Sunday, March 2, and closing on Shrove Tuesday.

The great return of the Carnival

Organized by the Municipality of Altofonte, the 2025 edition brought the festival back to the streets after a five-year break, recording a high level of public participation.

On Friday, February 28, the festivities kicked off with a masked parade of the Armaforte Comprehensive Institute students, starting from the school and ending in the square with dancing and entertainment for children, featuring costumes inspired by fairy tales, art history, and literature.

On Sunday, March 2, the main parade took place: masks and allegorical floats departed from Campo Recupero Bruno to travel through the town streets to Piazza Falcone e Borsellino. The event concluded on Tuesday, March 4, with an afternoon masked party in the square and a grand masquerade ball in the evening.

  • 10:00 AM — Masked parade of the Armaforte Comprehensive Institute students, from the school to the square, with entertainment for children

Sunday, March 2, 2025

  • 2:00 PM — Main parade of masks and allegorical floats, departing from Campo Recupero Bruno towards Piazza Falcone e Borsellino

Tuesday, March 4, 2025 (Shrove Tuesday)

  • 4:30 PM — Masked party in the square
  • 9:00 PM — Grand masquerade ball in the former convent buildings
