Almond Festival

The eighth edition of the Almond Festival enlivened Specchia on Sunday, July 6, 2025, organized by the Circolo Cittadino with the patronage of the Municipality and the Pro Loco as part of the local summer festival. At 8:45 PM, the historical procession departed from Palazzo Coluccia with the II Legio Augusta of Lizzanello, passing through Via Matteotti, Piazza Sant'Oronzo, Via F. Gonzaga, Piazzetta S. Giovanni, and Via Umberto I until reaching Piazza del Popolo. The evening featured performances by the Kitri Ballet, with dances, readings, and dialogues by actors inspired by the story of Lucrezia Amendolara, and an art exhibition by the "Gruppo ProArti," with narration by Nunzia Baglivo. At 10:00 PM, a concert of pizzica and folk songs by Maria Rimini & Company, with guests Maestro Luca Buccarella and the Fomentati. Stalls with artisanal almond paste sweets, cupeta, and mousse were a highlight of the event.
