The 2025 Almfest at the Schliniger Alm

The alpine pasture festival at the Schliniger Alm, at 1,868 meters above Slingia/Schlinig in the municipality of Malles Venosta/Mals, confirmed itself in 2025 as one of the most genuine summer events in the Vinschgau Valley. Numerous hikers and families climbed up to the hut for the official cutting of the alpine cheese, held around 11:30 AM, the heart of a day spent in the open air.

Surrounding the tasting of the wheels aged in the alpine pasture, there were gastronomic specialties from the hut, drinks, and live music, in a festive atmosphere amidst pastures and larch forests under the Sesvenna chain. An edition that reaffirmed the deep bond between the community of Slingia and its mountain hut, where every summer about seventy cows graze and the cheesemakers produce cheese, butter, and yogurt.
