Edition 2025 — Almabtrieb St. Magdalena

In September 2025, Val di Funes celebrated the Almabtrieb with the descent of livestock from the Gampenalm and Dusleralm to St. Magdalena. The cows, decorated with mountain flowers, mirrors, and bells, arrived at the Bergerplatz around noon. The festival on the meadow began in the morning with traditional South Tyrolean dishes, followed in the afternoon by the Villnöß brass band concert and dance music.

The 2025 edition of the Almabtrieb took place in September in St. Magdalena, in the municipality of Funes/Villnöß (Province of Bolzano). After a summer spent on high-altitude pastures, the livestock descended to the valley from the Gampenalm and Dusleralm.

The day began in the morning with the farmers' festival on the meadow and traditional gastronomic specialties, while the flower-adorned cows reached the Bergerplatz in St. Magdalena around noon. In the afternoon, the Villnöß brass band held its traditional concert, followed by dance music, in a festive atmosphere beneath the Odle peaks. Admission to the event was free.
