Agosto Montefalchese and Fuga del Bove

The 2025 edition of the Agosto Montefalchese and Fuga del Bove confirmed the charm of one of Umbria's most cherished medieval re-enactments. In Montefalco, in the province of Perugia, the four districts — San Bartolomeo, San Fortunato, San Francesco, and Sant'Agostino — competed for victory in the challenges staged in Piazza del Comune.

Historical processions in costume, flag-wavers' and drummers' competitions, district shows, relays, and crossbow shooting marked the evenings, culminating in the spectacular Fuga del Bove. The district taverns offered traditional dishes, from gnocchi with Sagrantino to steak, in a blend of history, folklore, and food and wine.
