Edition 2025 — Adventus

In August 2025, Lama dei Peligni hosted a new edition of the Adventus, the biennial re-enactment of the Coming of the Holy Child. On a Sunday afternoon, the historic center of the village came alive with a costumed pageant and scenic tableaux recounting the arrival of the sacred statue in 1760, blending popular devotion with historical memory.

The 2025 Edition of the Adventus

The 2025 edition of the Adventus took place in August 2025 in Lama dei Peligni, within the Majella National Park (Chieti province). Following the biennial tradition, the costumed procession wound through the streets of the historic center, unfolding in the customary scenic tableaux: the departure from Jerusalem, the journey to Abruzzo, the welcoming of the Holy Child, and scenes of daily life from the past, featuring ancient trades, a wedding procession, and period settings.

The event, promoted by the Pro Loco of Lama dei Peligni, concluded in Piazza Umberto I with the celebration of the Holy Child statuette, reaffirming the strong identity-based value of this re-enactment for the local community and the Abruzzo region.
