Adriatic Series - Duathlon Sprint Tolentino

A multi-sport race in the heart of the Marche

The Adriatic Series - Duathlon Sprint Tolentino is one of the most followed sporting events in the spring calendar of the Municipality of Tolentino, in the Province of Macerata. It is a sprint duathlon, a discipline that combines running and cycling in a single event: athletes tackle a first running leg, then get on their bikes for the cycling leg, and finish with a second run, in a crescendo of intensity that tests endurance and transition skills.

The circuit and distances

The race takes place on a multi-lap circuit completely closed to traffic, flat and fast, set up in Contrada Pace at the Associazione Tennis Tolentino. The sprint format includes 5 km of running (four laps), 20 km of cycling (three laps), and a second 2.5 km run (two laps). The layout of the course is one of the event's strengths: it allows the public to follow all phases of the race from the roadside, from start to finish, making the event engaging for spectators too.

A significant event on the national scene

The Tolentino Sprint Duathlon is the inaugural stage of the Adriatic Series, the multi-disciplinary circuit of the Adriatic coast, and awards the title of Marche Regional Sprint Duathlon Champion of the Italian Triathlon Federation (FITRI). The race is classified as a Silver event, valid for the national ranking, and welcomes FITRI-affiliated athletes from numerous categories, from the youngest to the most experienced competitors. In recent years, it has attracted over a hundred participants from clubs across Central Italy to Tolentino.

Sport, territory, and solidarity

The organization is managed by Flipper Triathlon ASD, with the support of the Tolentino municipal administration and the collaboration of numerous local associations, including AVIS, AIDO, ADAMO, and AIL. The event is also linked to the creation of the Tri-League Unicam, a circuit involving the University of Camerino with scholarships dedicated to young athletes. An event that combines competition, promotion of the Marche region, and solidarity values, confirming Tolentino as a reference point for triathlon and multi-sport disciplines in the Marche.
