Edition 2025 — 'A Vecchia

The 2025 New Year's Eve in Gratteri celebrated 'A Vecchia with the usual ritual of the descent from the Grotta Grattara. On the evening of December 31, 2024, the torchlight procession crossed the Madonie village distributing sweets to children, before the square party with live music, a midnight toast, and tastings that accompanied the arrival of the new year.

'A Vecchia 2025 in Gratteri

For the 2025 New Year's Eve, the village of Gratteri, in the Madonie, brought back its most beloved tradition. The day of December 31, 2024, opened with guided tours, while in the evening, around 8:30 PM, the procession departed from Piazza San Francesco. After the ritual of the descent of the Vecchia, wrapped in a white sheet and riding a donkey, the party continued in the center of the village.

The evening was enlivened by live music from the Jackson Friends and, at midnight, by the toast, tastings of local sweets, and fireworks. The celebration continued past midnight with a convivial moment dedicated to the community.
