Edition 2025 — Nebrodi Hazelnut Festival

Before the new Festival, the celebration of the hazelnut in Tortorici took the form of the Hazelnut Feast, promoted by the Pro Loco Tortorici APS with the support of the Regional Department of Agriculture. In Piazza Zumbo, in the center of the Messina town, two days in September featured cooking shows, conferences, and tastings of dishes based on Nebrodi hazelnuts.

The 2025 Hazelnut Feast

The 2025 edition of the Hazelnut Feast in Tortorici took place in Piazza Zumbo, organized by the Pro Loco Tortorici APS with the support of the Regional Department of Agriculture. For two days, local producers and restaurateurs offered cooking shows, conferences, and tastings with the Nebrodi hazelnut as the star of every dish.

The menu ranged from appetizers with fresh cheeses and hazelnut ricotta to first courses like baked pasta and tagliatelle, as well as main courses and traditional Sicilian desserts: cakes, cannoli, gelato, and granita. A small exhibition dedicated to the art of hazelnut cultivation and processing was also set up, while the evenings concluded with folk music and DJ sets. This event laid the foundation for the Nebrodi Hazelnut Festival, which was born the following year.
