Zanni del Cicolano Carnival

2025 Edition: the thirtieth anniversary

The edition of February 22, 2025 marked the thirty years of the Compagnia degli Zanni of Pescorocchiano. Starting at 2:00 PM, in the hamlet of Leofreni, the traditional masks animated the streets of the village, followed by the popular performance "the Contrast between the Poor and the Rich" staged by the Viviamo Leofreni association. The event concluded in the evening, around 6:00 PM.

2025 was a year of great visibility for the Cicolano Carnival: on February 9, the Company presented the event and the entire territory of Pescorocchiano at the BIT in Milan, the International Tourism Exchange, while on March 3, the Zanni participated in the Carnival of Traditions within the Venice Carnival. Two showcases that brought an otherwise little-known Apennine tradition outside the borders of the Rieti province.
