5th edition - July 27, 2025

In 2025, the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly, now in its fifth edition, carried the theme «Blessed are those who have not lost their hope» (cf. Sir 14:2). In Rome, the diocesan celebration took place at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, with Holy Mass broadcast live on Rai 1 starting at 10:55 AM and presided over by Monsignor Renato Tarantelli Baccari, Vicegerent of the diocese.

The 2025 edition took place at a particularly significant moment, on the eve of the Youth Jubilee, emphasizing the bond between generations and Christian hope as a path to a serene and reconciled old age.
