Edition 2025 — WCD Rome
A year without a gathering
World Children's Day is not an annual event: after the first Roman edition of May 25 and 26, 2024, 2025 did not see any international gathering in the Capital.
The "Let us love and protect them" summit
On February 2 and 3, 2025, the Holy See hosted an international summit on children's rights, promoted by the Pontifical Committee for World Children's Day, with the opening evening at the Vatican Museums. The meeting, reserved for experts, institutions, and representatives of international organizations, represented the main institutional follow-up to the first edition.
Towards 2026
On November 19, 2025, Pope Leo XIV announced the second World Children's Day for September 25-27, 2026, in Rome, an appointment later cancelled the following March.
