Winter Celebrations of Saint Blaise - San Biase Piccinnu

In 2025, the winter liturgical feast of Saint Blaise, the «San Biase Piccinnu», opened in Carosino on Sunday, January 26 with the ceremony of enthroning the venerated statue in the Church of Madonna delle Grazie. The triduum of preparation featured evening masses celebrated at 6:30 PM.

Friday, January 31, the mass in honor of Saint John Bosco, with musical animation, was followed by the traditional offering of bread and mortadella in the parish hall. Sunday, February 2, the day of Candlemas, masses were held at 8:00 AM, 10:30 AM, and 6:00 PM, with the 11:30 AM procession through the main streets of the town accompanied by the «Santa Cecilia - Città di Taranto» band directed by maestro Giuseppe Gregucci; the faithful were asked to hang red drapes with the saint's image from their balconies. Monday, February 3, the feast of Saint Blaise, the 8:30 AM and 10:30 AM masses and the 6:30 PM evening celebration concluded with the blessing of throats with crossed candles and the distribution of over one hundred packages of blessed panettone, donated by parishioners and local businesses. The celebrations were presided over by the parish priest Father Filippo Urso.
