Wedding of the Tree of Vetralla

The 2025 edition of the Wedding of the Tree took place on May 8th, as per the tradition linked to the feast of the Apparition of Saint Michael the Archangel. The mayor of Vetralla, accompanied by municipal representatives and a crowd of witnesses in historical costume, reached the square in front of the Sant'Angelo convent on Monte Fogliano to record the act of recognition and possession that the people of Vetralla have claimed over the forest since the bull of Pope Eugene IV in 1432. The ceremony, registered in the Regional Register of Historical Re-enactments of the Lazio Region, once again confirmed the deep bond between the community of the Viterbo Tuscia and its forest.
