We Are All Transhumants – A Gathering of Great Walkers

The year of the birth of Transumè

In 2025, the Transumè project was launched in Boca, in the Province of Novara, promoted by the Sportway ETS association with the support of the Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo. The goal: to promote transhumance as a cultural, economic, and environmental practice of the Piedmontese territory, in the green corridor between Lake Orta and Lake Maggiore.

Throughout the year, interviews with shepherds, community events, group walks, and trail mapping activities took place. From this fieldwork, the Rural Loops were born—routes designed to tell the authentic and rural soul of the Novara region, which were officially presented during the "We Are All Transhumants" weekend.
