The origins of the Watermelon Festival

The Watermelon Festival in Varallo is part of a series of cultural initiatives promoted in the Valsesia valley to raise awareness about the history, culture, and traditions of Palestine. Organized by the ANPI Provincial Committee of Vercelli and Valsesia for Palestine, the event combines debates, testimonies, books, art, cuisine, and crafts into a day of dialogue open to everyone.

Set in the historic spaces of Varallo's center, in the Province of Vercelli, the festival represents a moment of encounter between the local Piedmontese community and a distant culture, told through its symbols, flavors, and voices.
