Walser Procession - Maria Donna dello Spirito

The 2025 edition of the "Maria Donna dello Spirito" Walser Procession confirmed the devotional appointment organized by the Parishes of San Michele and San Rocco in Premia. The pilgrimage set off at dawn from the church of Beata Vergine Maria Assunta in Salecchio Inferiore, in the municipality of Premia (VB), to reach the Sanctuary of the Visitation of Mary in Antillone, in the municipality of Formazza.

Along the route, marked by stops at the devotional sites of Salecchio Superiore, Case Francoli, Alpe Vova, and Picanzolo, pilgrims followed the statue of the Madonna della Pietà of Salecchio. The day concluded with the celebration of Holy Mass at the sanctuary and a moment of conviviality in the Walser hamlet of Antillone, following a tradition that the community preserves and passes down from generation to generation.
