Edition 2025 — Waldensian Bonfires of February 17th

In 2025 as well, on the evening of February 16th, the fires of freedom illuminated the hills of Luserna San Giovanni, in the Pellice Valley (Turin), for the eve of February 17th. Torchlight procession toward Stallè, fires lit on the hamlets by Waldensian families, and, the following day, solemn worship in the temple and a community lunch, following a tradition that commemorates the 1848 Letters Patent.

The 2025 edition of the Waldensian Bonfire Night followed the established ritual of the Waldensian Festival of Freedom. On the evening of February 16th, the torchlight procession left from the Waldensian Kindergarten toward Stallè, where the official bonfire, coordinated by the Waldensian Churches of Angrogna and Luserna San Giovanni, was lit; numerous other fires were lit by families and citizens on the hillside hamlets on the orographic left of the Pellice.

On February 17th, the community gathered for worship in the temple and for the community lunch, in a day of civil and religious memory that has renewed the remembrance of the rights granted to the Waldensians in 1848 for generations.
