Votive Procession of Santa Maria Assunta

2025 Edition

On August 15, 2025, the community of Riva del Garda gathered for the traditional Votive Procession of Santa Maria Assunta. The celebration began with Holy Mass in the parish church at 10:30 AM, presided over by Dean Monsignor Giovanni Binda, before the venerated 15th-century wooden statue of the patron saint.

Around 11:15 AM, the procession began along the canonical route: from Piazza Cavour towards Porta San Michele and Viale Dante Ovest, then Via Fiume and Piazza Tre Novembre, where boats paid homage to the Madonna with the blessing of the lake. The procession returned to Piazza Cavour via Via Gazzoletti, Via Florida, and Piazza Erbe, concluding with a concert by the City Band. There was a large turnout of faithful, authorities, and tourists present in the city for Ferragosto in the Upper Garda region.
