Edition 2025 — San Calò of January

On January 11, 2025, Naro once again celebrated its votive procession in honor of Saint Calogero, the Black Saint and protector of the city. The procession crossed the historic center from the Sanctuary in Piazza Roma, renewing the vow of thanksgiving for having escaped the 1693 earthquake, in a day of popular faith and tradition shared by the entire Naro community.

2025 Edition

On January 11, 2025, the ancient rite of the Votive Procession of Saint Calogero was repeated in Naro, one of the most deeply felt dates in the city's religious calendar. The statue of the Saint was carried on shoulders along the streets of the historic center, accompanied by the prayers of the faithful and the invocation "Viva Diu e San Calò".

The recurrence maintained its profound votive significance, linked to the memory of Naro's salvation from the devastating Val di Noto earthquake of 1693, when the Agrigento town remained miraculously unscathed while dozens of villages collapsed around it.
