Volkswagen Barletta Marathon & Half Marathon

The first edition of the Volkswagen Barletta Marathon & Half Marathon took place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, marking the return of the marathon to Barletta after twenty-nine years. The event was centered at the Cosimo Puttilli Stadium, which housed all services and served as the starting point at 9:00 AM for all race categories.

The race, organized by Enzo Cascella's ASD Barletta Sportiva in partnership with the Club Supermarathon Italia under president Paolo Gino, featured a 42.195 km marathon, a 21.097 km half marathon, and a 10 km non-competitive run. More than a week before the race, there were already over 1,500 registered participants, a third of whom were competing in the flagship 42 km distance. The event was born with the stated mission of becoming the premier marathon of Southern Italy.
