Vivere il Mare – Experiences and Flavors of Punta Secca

Vivere il Mare 2025

The inaugural edition of Vivere il Mare was held from May 31 to June 2, 2025, in Piazza Faro in Punta Secca, a hamlet of Santa Croce Camerina, in the province of Ragusa. The mornings, from 10 am to 12 pm, hosted educational workshops for children curated by IDIMED, local associations ACK and La Vita è Bella, and, on the final day, the Civic Museum of Natural History of Comiso.

On May 31, a workshop on traditional fishing was held with local fishermen; on June 1, at 7 pm, the live cooking demonstration featured chefs Dario Di Liberto and Andrea Cascone, with dishes based on cuttlefish and horse mackerel; on June 2, a talk on the properties of underutilized species took place, followed by a final musical performance by the Risveglio Bandistico Kamarinense Street Band. Co-funded by the European Union and the Sicilian Region, the event took place concurrently with Faro in Festa.
