Edition 2025 — Vitulano Marble Symposium
"Edera", a carved herbarium
For the XII edition of the International Marble Sculpture Symposium in Vitulano (Province of Benevento, Campania), artistic director Mariano Goglia invited the German sculptor Verena Mayer-Tasch. The artist created "Edera", a diptych consisting of two bas-reliefs in Carrara white marble framed by Rosso Policromo di Vitulano: a layering of leaves carved like fossilized traces, a stone herbarium that speaks of survival and silent adaptation. The work remained in the village, like all previous ones, to enrich the open-air art trail.
An edition dedicated to Paolo De Filippo
The calendar from August 1 to 3, 2025, was dedicated to the memory of Paolo De Filippo, President of the City Council who passed away shortly before the event. In addition to the days of sculpture and the exhibition in the Cappella dei Nobili, the program included the inauguration of the Municipal Art Gallery named after painter Nicola Mastrocinque, the naming of a square after former mayor Mario Scarinzi, theatrical performances, and the musical casting "Una Voce in Campania".
