Edition 2025 — Vitigliano Carnival

The 47th edition of the Vitigliano Carnival took place over two weekends, February 22-23 and March 1-2, 2025. The "Le Origini" historical pageant, the presentation of papier-mâché floats and masquerade groups, the Treasure Hunt, and an evening show with Giampaolo Catalano & Pupo's Band enlivened the village of Santa Cesarea Terme.

47th edition — February and March 2025

The 47th edition of the Vitigliano Carnival spanned two weekends, confirming its status as one of the longest-running carnivals in lower Salento. The program kicked off on Saturday, February 22 with the "Le Origini" historical pageant, the delivery of the flag, and children's games, continuing on Sunday, February 23 with the official presentation of the papier-mâché floats and masquerade groups.

The second weekend featured the spectacular Treasure Hunt on Saturday, March 1st, the parade of papier-mâché floats, and an evening show with Giampaolo Catalano & Pupo's Band; the grand finale on Sunday, March 2nd combined the Carnival trek, the second part of the treasure hunt, and the awards ceremony for the floats and masquerade groups. An edition that confirmed the vitality of the papier-mâché tradition in Vitigliano, a village in the Municipality of Santa Cesarea Terme in the province of Lecce.
