Edition 2025 — Viterbo Half Marathon
The debut of the Viterbo Half Marathon
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, Viterbo hosted the first edition of the Viterbo Half Marathon - City of Popes, launched on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the European Week of Sport with the patronage of the European Commission and the European Parliament. Participation, which was completely free, attracted approximately 1,500 registrants, with nearly 800 athletes finishing the 21.097 km distance starting from Piazza dei Caduti.
Victory went to Marouan Razine, a middle-distance runner for the Army, ahead of Raffaele Mastrolorenzo and Andrea Rofena; among the women, Sara Pastore (Calcaterra Sport ASD) won in 1h29:11, ahead of Fabiola Cardarelli and Luminita Lungu. Alongside the competitive race, a non-competitive 4x5 km relay and a fun run open to all took place, while from September 26 to 28, the sports village animated the city with stands, activities, and round-table discussions on sport, inclusion, and healthy lifestyles. A sold-out debut that prompted the Municipality of Viterbo and ASD Viterbo Runners to relaunch for 2026.
