A Village Festival in the Heart of the Sibillini

Visso in Festa - Flavors and Music is the May 1st event that Pro Loco Visso dedicates to its community and to visitors who choose the Sibillini Mountains for the early May long weekend. It takes place in the Municipality of Visso, in the Province of Macerata, in the Marche region, and it is a village festival in the truest sense of the word: spontaneous, convivial, made of good food, wine, and music shared in the piazza.

Flavors of the Marche Tradition

The heart of the day are the food stalls set up by Pro Loco volunteers. The protagonists are the simple and characteristic dishes of the area: grilled sausage sandwiches, the unmissable fava beans and pecorino cheese - a symbolic pairing for May 1st in many parts of central Italy - and local wine to accompany them. A genuine offering, designed to enjoy the flavors of the Marche mountains together.

Live Music and Convivial Atmosphere

The festival is enlivened by live music, with a concert by the band Old Boys accompanying the afternoon and evening. The atmosphere is typical of festivals organized by Pro Loco associations in the Apennines: relaxed, popular, open to families, groups of friends, and passing hikers.

Visso, a Reborn Sibillini Village

Visso is one of the most picturesque villages in the Sibillini Mountains National Park, which was severely affected by the 2016 Central Italy earthquake. Events like this, promoted by Pro Loco together with neighboring communities, have a value that goes beyond the festival itself: they keep the focus on the reconstruction of the territory and promote tourism in an area of great natural beauty.
