The charm of old tractors between rural memory and village festival in San Ginesio
The Vintage Tractor Rally in San Ginesio is much more than an exhibition of old agricultural machinery: it is a popular festival that tells the story of the evolution of agriculture in the Marche region, from ploughing with oxen to the first motorized models. Every year, between the end of August, carefully restored tractors return to the spotlight, lined up along the Parcheggio Marchesini Patto Passo, on the outskirts of the village. It is an event that combines passion, memory, and rural identity, in the heart of the Province of Macerata and the Sibillini Mountains.
What makes the rally special is the meeting between three generations of farmers: the grandparents who worked with animal-drawn ploughs, the children who witnessed the arrival of the first mechanization, and the grandchildren who use modern techniques today. From a simple exhibition of machinery, the event has transformed over the years into an authentic social and cultural event, capable of welcoming families and young people curious about local agricultural history.
The rally's program, organized by the Gruppo Amatori Le Teste Calle in collaboration with the Municipal Administration and the Pro Loco of San Ginesio, alternates spectacular moments with moments of reflection:
The setting for the rally is San Ginesio, one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, overlooking the Sibillini Mountains in the Province of Macerata, in the Marche region. Known as the 'Balcony of the Sibillini' for its panoramas, the village offers visitors to the rally the opportunity to combine the discovery of rural tradition with the historical and landscape heritage of the area.
The VII edition of the Vintage Tractor Rally confirms San Ginesio as a focal point for enthusiasts of historic agricultural machinery and rural traditions. The event, included in the village's official 2026 event calendar, will animate the Parcheggio Marchesini Patto Passo from August 21 to 23, with daily openings from 4:00 PM.
Organized by the Gruppo Amatori Le Teste Calle along with the Municipal Administration and the Pro Loco, the rally will once again offer the tried-and-tested formula that has led to its success: an exhibition of vintage tractors, night ploughing, conferences on local products, live folk music, activities for children, and food stalls featuring local specialties.
The detailed program for the VII edition will be announced by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event. Based on past editions, the three days (August 21-23, 2026, from 4:00 PM) typically include:
