2025 Edition
The fifth edition of the Villa Medici Film Festival was held at the French Academy in Rome from September 10 to 14, 2025, with a program of nearly forty screenings distributed between the villa's indoor spaces and the screen set up outdoors in the courtyard.
The jury brought together director Alain Guiraudie, actress Guslagie Malanda, and artist Anri Sala, who were tasked with choosing from the twelve films in the international competition.
The Villa Medici Prize for Best Film went to Lloyd Wong, Unfinished by Lesley Loksi Chan (Canada, 2025), while the Special Jury Prize was awarded to Comment ça va? by Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel. Both awards included, in addition to the cash prize, the possibility of a residency at Villa Medici.
