Edition 2025 — Vicoli Corti

The 20th edition of Vicoli Corti, the twentieth anniversary, took place from August 19th to 24th, 2025, in Piazza Santi Medici in Massafra, with the theme "Let's remain human." Six days dedicated to international short films, first and second works, with a tribute to Elvira Notari, masterclasses, the Amnesty International Human Rights Prize, and the participation of Riccardo Noury.

The twentieth edition of Vicoli Corti, which celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the festival, was held from August 19th to 24th, 2025, in the historic Piazza Santi Medici in Massafra. The theme of the year, "Let's remain human," ran through the screenings, questioning the boundary between humanity and dehumanization, the relationship with artificial intelligence, collective memory, and denied rights.

The international short film competition brought works from Italy, China, Indonesia, Greenland, Brazil, and Mexico to Massafra, alongside the section dedicated to first and second-time directors. The jury was composed of Sara Fgaier, Davide Di Giorgio, and Francesco Lattarulo. Among the highlights were the tribute to Elvira Notari, the first Italian female director, with live musical accompaniment, and the meeting with Riccardo Noury, spokesperson for Amnesty International Italy, for the presentation of his book "Genocidi".

Among the awards presented: the Human Rights Prize by Amnesty International, the Archivio RitrovaTA Prize for the best use of archival material, the Audience Prize, and the Sentinella dello Sguardo Prize. As per tradition, admission to all events was free.
