Edition 2025 — Verdi Festival

The XXV edition of the Verdi Festival took place from September 20th to October 19th, 2025, between Parma and Busseto, under the sign of Verdi and Shakespeare. On the bill were three titles inspired by the English playwright — Otello, Macbeth, and Falstaff — alongside the Verdi Gala, the Messa da Requiem, and the tenth Verdi Off. An edition that celebrated the link between the composer and great Shakespearean drama, confirming Parma as the international capital of Verdian opera.

The twenty-fifth edition of the Verdi Festival, from September 20th to October 19th, 2025, had the relationship between Verdi and Shakespeare as its common thread. The three operas on the bill were all based on the English playwright: Otello, premiered at the Teatro Regio di Parma on September 26th; Macbeth (in the 1847 version) at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi di Busseto from September 27th; and Falstaff at the Teatro Regio from October 3rd.

The program also included the Messa da Requiem conducted by Robert Treviño (October 18th), the Verdi Gala with Paolo Carignani (October 10th), the charity gala Fuoco di gioia (October 14th), and the concert by Michele Gamba with the Luigi Magnani Quartet (October 2nd), as well as the tenth edition of Verdi Off with its numerous widespread and free events.
