Edition 2025 — Ventotene Conference
The first Ventotene European Conference for Freedom and Democracy took place from September 12 to 14, 2025, promoted by European Parliament Vice-President Pina Picierno and organized by the European Parliament Liaison Office in Italy with the European Commission Representation. The program, divided into more than eighty free-access sessions between the Municipal Gardens, the Municipal Council Hall, the Belvedere Granili, Piazza Alcide De Gasperi, and the sports hall, addressed wars, dictatorships, disinformation, and European defense.
On the Pontine island, in the province of Latina, guests such as Yulia Navalnaya, Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, Ukrainians Oleksandra Matviichuk and Oleksandra Romantsova, Belarusian leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, and activists from Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America, with the Women of the Sun and Women Wage Peace movements, took the stage. The Democracy Camp involved young people from the Insieme-per.eu network, and the three-day event closed on Sunday, September 14, with an appeal for democracy and freedom.
