Edition 2025 — Venetian Festival on the Water

In 2025, the Festa Veneziana sull'Acqua once again opened the Venice Carnival with the traditional water parade along the Grand Canal, featuring dozens of traditional boats and masked rowers, culminating in the bursting of the Pantegana amidst confetti and celebration.

The 2025 edition of the Festa Veneziana sull'Acqua confirmed its role as the inaugural event of the Venice (VE) Carnival. The water parade along the Grand Canal, with traditional boats and masked rowers, celebrated `voga alla veneta` and the city's maritime culture. The bursting of the Pantegana at Rialto, with its shower of confetti, traditionally marked the official start of the festivities, creating one of the most evocative images of the lagoon Carnival.

Programme

The 2025 edition followed the usual structure: a water parade along the Grand Canal with traditional boats and masked rowers, and the bursting of the Pantegana at Rialto with confetti, to open the Venice Carnival.
