The 2025 edition in Ortodonico
The 28th edition of the VeliaTeatro Festival was divided into nine evenings between the end of July and September 15th, 2025, and stopped in Ortodonico di Montecorice on Monday, August 4th, at 9:00 PM, in Piazza Tommaso Amoresano.
Virgil and the descent into the Underworld
The evening was opened by the lectio brevis «A golden bough, hope for the future» by Antonella Prenner, professor at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, followed by the Concert from Book VI of the Aeneid by Publius Vergilius Maro: narration by Matteo Belli, voice by Elena Neni Barini, violin by Teresa Ceccato, cello by Claudia Della Gatta, and piano by Paolo Vivaldi, author of the original music.
A free event
As in the other evenings hosted by the Municipality of Montecorice, admission was free until capacity was reached, confirming the festival's choice to bring ancient theatre to the villages of Cilento with maximum accessibility.
