Edition 2025 — The Vara of Randazzo
2025 Edition
In 2025, Randazzo once again celebrated its Vara on August 14th and 15th. On August 14th, after the solemn mass, the procession of the Dormitio Virginis took place. On August 15th, in the afternoon, the Vara departed from the apses of the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, traveling the entire length of Via Umberto I to Porta San Martino.
As every year, the approximately thirty young performers on the levels of the float sang the ancient Marian hymn, while from the balconies of the historic center, the population tossed candies onto the crowd, renewing a rite that has been passed down in Randazzo for centuries.
