Valtidone Wine Fest in Ziano Piacentino — 2025 Edition

On September 14, 2025, Ziano Piacentino (Piacenza) hosted its stage of the 16th edition of the Valtidone Wine Fest, dedicated to Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, coinciding with the 73rd Grape Festival. The day opened at 10 AM with tasting stands from about twenty wineries, set up in the courtyards of the Municipality opposite the town hall.

Colli Piacentini DOC wines, with Malvasia offered in dry, sweet, still, semi-sparkling, and sparkling versions, were paired with local cured meats, starting with Pancetta Piacentina DOP — Ziano hosts one of Europe's largest pancetta producers — and mushrooms from Borgotaro. The event was organized by the Sette Colli Wine Producers Association.

From 2:30 PM to 7 PM, the six districts of the town competed in traditional games — grape stomping, Palio delle Botti (Barrel Race), and tractor pulling — accompanied by a parade of four wine-themed allegorical floats, the Don Orione Band, street artists, and workshops for children. From 7 PM, the DJ Cocktail closed the day with music and cocktails based on local DOC wines.
