A Community Carnival
The Valmorea Carnival is a recent event — in 2026 it will be its fourth edition — but it has quickly won over the town. It is organized by the Parents' Association of Valmorea, in collaboration with the municipal administration, the Alpini Group, AVIS, the Civil Protection of the Valle del Lanza, and local schools. The result is an intergenerational festival, built from the ground up, where people can come together amidst masks and confetti.
The Float Parade
The heart of the day is the parade of allegorical floats, which starts in the early afternoon from the main square and winds through the streets of the town center — via Roma, up to the post office, then via Manzoni and via XXV Aprile for the return. Accompanying the floats are entertainment, music with a DJ, and activities dedicated to children. The food stalls open in the morning, with Carnival specialties like fritters and chiacchiere, and the salamelle prepared by the Alpini.
Valmorea, a Border Town
Valmorea is a municipality in the province of Como, in Lombardy, located in the Valle del Lanza close to the Swiss border. Its small size is precisely what makes the Carnival a participatory event, where families, associations, and volunteers build the town's festival together.

For 2026, the Valmorea Carnival reaches its fourth edition, scheduled for Sunday, February 15. The day opens at 11:00 AM with barbecues and a bar at the primary school on via Roma; at 2:00 PM, the parade of floats kicks off from the main square. The event is organized by the Valmorea Parents' Association with the Municipality, the Alpini Group, AVIS, and the Civil Protection of the Valle del Lanza.

Four allegorical floats accompanied by five vintage cars from the National Carabinieri Association. Along the route: music with a DJ and entertainment for children. In the food stalls, in addition to barbecues, there will be fritters, chiacchiere, and salamelle prepared by the Alpini Group.
