Valle del Dragone Quarantino Bean Festival

The 2025 edition, the thirteenth, marked a step up for the Valle del Dragone Quarantino Bean Festival. The event expanded from two to three squares — Piazza Roma, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, and Piazzetta Sarno — with over seventy stalls and the first participation of Coldiretti alongside the Slow Food Presidium farms.

Friday began with a book presentation at 6:00 PM, the opening of food stalls at 7:30 PM, and concerts from 9:30 PM. Saturday the 13th opened with early morning hikes and visits to the ethnographic museum from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, continuing with a painting competition in the afternoon, the bean threshing demonstration at 6:30 PM, a showcooking session at 7:00 PM, and an evening concert by Enzo Costanza. Sunday the 14th featured guided tours of the Piana del Dragone, lunch at the stalls, the painting competition awards ceremony, and the final threshing demonstration, while the Irpinia Express historic train made a stop in Volturara Irpina.

Beyond the food, the program offered via ferratas and climbing, orienteering, creative workshops for children, horseback riding, picnic areas, and shuttles to the Bocca del Dragone. The Municipality recorded record numbers for visits to the museum and the Piana, a sign of growing interest in the valley's natural heritage.

Saturday, September 13, 2025 — Early morning hikes on the trails of Mount Terminio; 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM: visits to the Ethnographic Museum of the Valle del Dragone; art workshop with Sirian Di Feo; 5:30 PM: painting competition; 6:30 PM: bean threshing demonstration; 7:00 PM: showcooking; 8:30 PM: concert by Enzo Costanza. Stalls open for lunch and dinner.

Sunday, September 14, 2025 — 10:00 AM: guided tours of the Piana del Dragone and the Bocca del Dragone; 12:00 PM: opening of restaurants and stalls; 5:00 PM: painting competition awards; 6:30 PM: final threshing demonstration. Stop by the Irpinia Express historic train in Volturara Irpina.
