The 2025 edition of the Nagar Kirtan was held on Sunday, April 13, at Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Rome. The langar offered lentil soup, traditional food, and drinks to all attendees for free, confirming the festival's spirit of sharing.

The 2025 Nagar Kirtan in the Esquilino district

On Sunday, April 13, 2025, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II hosted the Vaisakhi celebration of Rome's Sikh community. The Guru Granth Sahib was carried in procession on a ceremonial float, preceded by the ritual of women symbolically sweeping the street; men in orange tunics and blue turbans, representing the Khalsa, held the sacred Nishan Sahib standard. The procession paraded around the square amidst songs and prayers, while young people performed the Gatka martial art. At the end, the langar distributed dahl and other dishes free of charge to thousands of participants, Sikh and non-Sikh alike, in an atmosphere of celebration and hospitality that involved the entire Esquilino neighborhood.
