The year preceding the arrival in Lazio

2025 is the birth year of Ursprung, but none of its editions were held in Rocca Sinibalda or in Italy. The first gathering, in January 2025, brought together twelve people in a small Alpine refuge in the Allgäu accessible only by snowmobile: excursions in the winter landscape, cooking on a wood stove, lightning talks, origami, tea ceremonies, and night conversations on the nature of art. From there, a reading group was born that still meets today.

In May, "On Salon Culture" followed, in Tyrol, with eighteen participants: a reconstruction of the 18th-century salon three centuries later, with cross-pollination studies that paired strangers from different disciplines for short creative sprints and experiments on the form of dialogue according to David Bohm.

In November, still in Tyrol and with twenty-six participants, "On Tools for Thought" worked on a single question: can we invent tools that allow us to think thoughts that we cannot think today? The result was a system for mapping a conversation in real-time and richer personal writing tools. It is this path that leads, a year later, the retreat to the Turano Valley.
