The first neighborhood festival of Piano San Lazzaro in Ancona
Under the Pià Sky is the first neighborhood festival dedicated to Piano San Lazzaro, the popular and multicultural district that develops around Corso Carlo Alberto and the covered market in Piazza d'Armi, in the municipality of Ancona, the capital of Marche. The idea is both simple and ambitious: to transform the neighborhood streets into a large open-air stage for an entire evening, filled with music, dancing, shows, fashion shows, street food, and markets.
The festival is organized across three stages located between Corso Carlo Alberto and the two entrances of the covered market, plus a karaoke area in the small square of the Coop supermarket. Each location showcases a different facet of the Piano district: from local dance schools to Brazilian dancers, from ballroom music by an orchestra to Romanian folklore, and DJ sets that liven up the evening until late at night. It's an explicit tribute to the multicultural nature of the district, where communities and traditions from all over the world coexist.
The event is promoted by the network of Piano merchants, by the operators of the covered market, by Confartigianato, and by third-sector associations, with the support of the Municipality of Ancona and the organization of the company Ankongrafica. The stated goal is to highlight the strong commercial vocation of the district and overcome the prejudices that often accompany it, creating an event to be repeated and grown over the years.
An evening designed for families, young people, and the curious, aiming to give Piano San Lazzaro an occasion for collective celebration and neighborhood pride in the heart of Ancona.
The first edition of Under the Pià Sky transformed the Piano San Lazzaro neighborhood of Ancona into a large open-air festival space on Saturday, May 30, 2026, with a continuous program from 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM. Three stages and a karaoke space marked a multicultural and popular evening, designed to enhance the commercial vocation of the district and its connection with its covered market.
The evening unfolded across three stages plus a karaoke space, each with its own programming.
Along the neighborhood streets: markets, street food, stalls from volunteer associations (including AMAD and Associazione Patronesse Salesi), and shops open beyond regular hours.
