Edition 2025 — Ugo Betti Award

In October 2025, the Municipality of Camerino and the Ugo Betti Centre for Theatre and Literary Studies presented the XX edition of the Ugo Betti Award for Playwriting, announcing the theme "Solitude" and the opening of the competition call. From that moment, living Italian and foreign authors could submit their unpublished plays, in view of the award ceremony scheduled for the following June in Camerino.

Launch of the XX Edition

On October 6, 2025, in Camerino, the XX edition of the Ugo Betti Award for Playwriting was officially presented, with the announcement of the year's theme: "Solitude", one of the most profound and recurring suggestions in the work of the playwright from Camerino.

The call for entries, aimed at living Italian and foreign authors, included a single prize of 3,000 euros and the publication of the winning work in the Betti series. The deadline for submitting texts was set for March 16, 2026. The jury, chaired by Paolo Quazzolo of the University of Trieste, received a total of 66 submissions, confirming the national prestige of the award promoted by the Municipality of Camerino, in the Marche region.
