About Two Days Marchigiana

The Due Giorni Marchigiana is a classic of international amateur cycling that every year, at the end of May, transforms Castelfidardo (province of Ancona) into the capital of two wheels. Two races in two days for the Elite and Under 23 categories: on Saturday the Gran Premio Santa Rita - Trofeo Foridra, a true test for climbers, and on Sunday the Trofeo Città di Castelfidardo - Trofeo Cisel, ideal terrain for sprinters. Also up for grabs is the Combinata Semar with the orange jersey for the best rider over the two days.

A cycling classic in the Marche region

The Due Giorni Marchigiana is one of the most anticipated events on the international cycling calendar for the Elite and Under 23 categories. It takes place every year at the end of May in Castelfidardo, a town in the province of Ancona in the Marche region, famous for its accordions and the National Monument of the Marche. The event, organized by the Sporting Club Sant'Agostino, is a true showcase for young cycling talents: many professional champions have passed through here before making their mark in the major World Tour races.

Two races, two faces

The format is a weekend that tests every type of rider. The first day, the Gran Premio Santa Rita - Trofeo Foridra, features a selective and challenging course, enhanced by the very tough climb of Contrada Valle Oscura: a route for climbers and attackers, where the race is decided by breakaways and attacks. The second day, the Trofeo Città di Castelfidardo - Trofeo Cisel, crosses the territories of Castelfidardo, Loreto, and Recanati on a course more suited to sprinters, often ending in a bunch sprint.

The Combinata Semar and the orange jersey

In addition to the individual race classifications, the two races award the Combinata Semar, which crowns the rider with the best overall score for the weekend with the prestigious orange jersey. This is the most coveted award, as it rewards consistency and the ability to best interpret such different courses.

A community and passion event

The Due Giorni Marchigiana is not just high-level sport: it's a celebration that involves the entire community of Castelfidardo. Dozens of volunteers, the hamlets of Sant'Agostino and Cerretano, roads closed to traffic and decorated, and crowds lining the routes and climbs make this event a true moment of gathering. Entry is free for spectators, who can follow the races from the roadside in a grand classic atmosphere.

Two Days Marchigiana — edition 2026

The 44th edition of the Due Giorni Marchigiana brought together 176 riders representing 30 teams, Italian and foreign (Switzerland, Bahrain, Hungary, Great Britain, Slovenia, Austria, and Kazakhstan), in Castelfidardo. Two spectacular races for the Elite and Under 23 categories, with a prize pool of 6,050 euros per race, animated the Fidardense weekend of May 23 and 24, 2026.

44th Edition — May 23-24, 2026

A very high-level edition with 176 cyclists and 30 teams at the start, including 21 Italian and 9 international teams. The two races provided spectacular action along the roads of Castelfidardo and neighboring municipalities, confirming the Due Giorni Marchigiana as one of the most important classics in the Elite/Under 23 amateur scene.

On Saturday, May 23, the Gran Premio Santa Rita - Trofeo Foridra (170.3 km) was held, won by Samuele Zoccarato (MBH Bank Colpack Ballan CSB) after a solo breakaway of about 140 kilometers, holding on even on the very tough climb of Contrada Valle Oscura. On Sunday, May 24, the Trofeo Città di Castelfidardo - Trofeo Cisel (182.4 km) was won by Marco Manenti (VF Group - Bardiani CSF - Faizanè), ahead of Davide Boscaro and Riccardo Fabbro.
