Edition 2025 — Belcanto Festival
The fifteenth edition of the Belcanto Festival reaffirmed Turi's operatic vocation with two main events between July and August 2025, under the artistic direction of Ferdinando Redavid and with the patronage of the Municipality of Turi and the Puglia Region.
On July 26, at the Atrio ITC Pertini Anelli (Via delle Ginestre), Pietro Mascagni's "Cavalleria Rusticana", based on the short story by Giovanni Verga, was performed by the Orchestra del Taranto Opera Festival conducted by Ferdinando Redavid, the Coro Tarenti Cantores directed by Tiziana Spagnoletta, and directed by Luigi Travaglio. The cast included Valentina De Pasquale (Santuzza), Ugo Tarquini (Turiddu), Alessandra Notarnicola (Lucia), Cesare Kwon (Alfio), and Marcella Diviggiano (Lola).
On August 2, the festival awarded the Belcanto Award to baritone Domenico Colaianni, an honor dedicated to an Apulian figure of note in the national and international operatic landscape.
