Edition 2025 — Tricarico Carnival
The 2025 edition of the Tricarico Carnival renewed the age-old rite of anthropozoomorphic masks, with the parade of the herd through the historic center, the procession of allegorical floats, and the final burning of Quaremma, confirming the Matera town among the capitals of the Lucanian historical carnival.
In 2025, the Tricarico Carnival once again enlivened the Arab-Norman village with its cow and bull masks, cowbells, and the re-enactment of transhumance. The festival, organized by the Pro Loco of Tricarico, attracted visitors and fans of popular traditions, culminating in the ritual moment of the "weeping of Quaremma".
