The origins of the Trento Fringe Festival
The Trento Fringe Festival is a newly conceived event: its first edition is scheduled for September 2026. Throughout 2025, the project was designed and built by Theatron 2.0 in collaboration with associations and local entities in Trento, with the goal of bringing a city-wide theatre festival inspired by the famous Edinburgh Fringe to the city.
The concept is that of an open space organized from the bottom up, capable of hosting independent and experimental artists, both Italian and international, in unconventional venues distributed across the city's neighborhoods. The festival is part of the «Trento Aperta» program of the Municipality of Trento and represents one of the most anticipated additions to the theatrical scene of Trentino-Alto Adige.
